West Bridgford Local Area Forum
Established in 1996, we are a forum for groups and organisations based in West Bridgford to meet their local Borough and County Councillors, to share ideas and discuss matters affecting the whole of the community.
Any resident of West Bridgford is welcome to attend.

Our next meeting is on Monday 17th August 2026 at 7.00 pm using Zoom.
If you live in West Bridgford and would like to attend please contact our secretary, email below.

OUR AIMS: To improve and sustain the quality of life of all those who live and work in and West Bridgford by providing a forum for the presentation, discussion and conclusion of issues affecting the community.

WE ARE: Local residents and representatives from environmental, conservation, ethnic, religious and community groups, police, fire, ambulance, health and libraries as well as Borough and County councillors for West Bridgford. If you represent a West Bridgford group not listed below, please get in touch.

West Bridgford currently has no Town or Parish Council
The WBLAF is the only place where groups and residents regularly meet with West Bridgford councillors. The rest of Rushcliffe has Town and Parish councils, the WBLAF is a consultative body for County & Borough issues relating to West Bridgford.

The Local Government Review for Nottinghamshire will see the replacement of Rushcliffe Borough and the County Council by a new unitary (single tier) authority. West Bridgford will either be part of an expanded city, or a new single tier county-wide authority.

A Town Council similar to others across Rushcliffe would help keep decision making local within these new structures.
We are therefore working for a Community Governance Review towards setting up a Town Council.
To make this happen, a formal petition is now being launched. Please click or tap here to sign the petition.

Rushcliffe Borough Council appoints 8 West Bridgford Councillors to be members of the forum:
WBLAF is chaired by Cllr. Richard Mallender, Borough councillor for Lady Bay.
WBLAF Traffic & Transport group is chaired by Cllr. Penny Gowland, County Councillor for West Bridgford North & Borough councillor for Abbey.
Please contact our secretary for details.
